We wanted to reflect this idea of journeys not only as physical movements but also as psychological and spiritual quests—life-changing developments that disrupt the familiar. Some journeys are literal, a search for freedom or survival; others are inward, a quest for identity or purpose.
With multiple exhibits and pavilions spread throughout the festival, it was essential to establish a distinct structure and consistent visual language to link the various spaces. Through cohesive design elements and an adaptive stepped framework, we were able to feature event and artist information clearly while maximising imagery.
Our design choices helped create a recognisable festival style both offline and online, while still giving us the flexibility to make individual design decisions that complement each work. Naam developed custom templates, banners, and social media elements to support BredaPhoto in building an online campaign aimed at engaging a wider international audience. The festival colours were chosen to help the festival stand out in the streets of Breda, where much of the print work and event signage needed to compete with brick and concrete backdrops.
From discovering campaigns online, buying a ticket for an exhibition, picking up a map, and following a photography trail across the city, engaging with exhibition staff and volunteers, to enjoying a coffee at a local participating café—every detail is thoughtfully designed to create a seamless experience for the user.
Ultimately, the campaign aims to bring visitors to the exhibition and convey the theme as both universal and deeply personal experiences. The resulting design captures the essence of journeys—full of movement, discovery, and transformation—while maintaining clarity, visual appeal, and a strong sense of connection across the festival landscape.
